Two new senior fellows at the Goldwater Institute:
Jay P. Greene is head of the Department of Education Reform at the University of Arkansas. Dr. Greene researches and writes on such education topics as school choice, high school graduation rates, and special education. His first project for the Goldwater Institute will be a study on higher education. Dr. Greene’s research has been cited in a U.S. Supreme Court decision on school vouchers and his articles have appeared in numerous publications. He has been a frequent guest on radio and television, including CBS’s 60 Minutes and ABC’s 20/20. Dr. Greene lives in Fayetteville, Ark., with his wife and three children.
Patrick Chovanec is an associate professor at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management in Beijing, China. He is an expert in economics, finance, international relations, and political strategy. Professor Chovanec played a key role in the passage of the “Contract with America” when he was an aide to current House Minority Leader John Boehner. Professor Chovanec has visited all 31 China provinces, and is one of only a few U.S. citizens to have visited North Korea. His perspective on Chinese economics and culture has been showcased in such publications as The Wall Street Journal and The Atlantic.
