The lobbying wing of the Family Research Council has announced it will award Heritage Foundation fellow Edwin Meese, III with its 2011 Vision and Leadership Award. The ceremony will take place at the gala dinner of the Values Voter Summit on October 8, 2011.
"Edwin Meese has been a long-time defender of faith, family and freedom. From serving under Governor and then President Ronald Reagan, including serving as Attorney General of the United States, he has upheld the Constitution and ensured that the rights of the people were defended, and not trampled," said Family Research Council Action President Tony Perkins in a released statement.
Meese will joing four previous recipients: Donald Wildmon, Dr. James Dobson, Phyllis Schlafly and Chuck Colson.
