Over at PostPartisan, the Washington Post's quickfire outlet for their opinion writers, AEI's Marc Thiessen (in a post called Obama in Tuscon: Brillian and Courageous) gushed over Obama's speech last night. In fact, Thiessen thought it was really two speeches in one--and he loved both of them.
In the first speech, Thiessen was appreciative that the victims and heroes were put front and center again--something absent in all the political sniping.
The second speech--well, it's just best to let Thiessen describe the second speech:
The president could have ended there. But instead he pivoted to a second speech on our political discourse -- and delivered a clear rebuke to those on the left who were so quick to politicize this tragedy and assign blame to their political opponents...
Luckily, it is only Thiessen who heard that second speech.
This is just pathetic. Thiessen is such an a-hole for pulling this crap. God forbid he let a woman who was shot in the head and a moment of healing get in the way of his agenda.
